Because I REALLY like the tone. Not so hot on the price (just my opinion, I didn't say it was overpriced).

This would be for a 1x12 speaker cab. Sounded GREAT with my Duende (I was testing out a buddy's cab).

Anything that captures that sound? :thud

WGS makes a Celestion gold type speaker called the Blackhawk. They're $229.

Thanks, hodeo.
Have you heard the Blackhawk at all?

I was under the impression that the Celestion Gold
was a 50 Weber Blue Dog replacement

may want to look there

The Red Fang could also be a lower cost alternative to a gold.

btw, I just played 2 used Dr. Z amps this weekend
in my local store

A Mazerati with a Red Fang, and Maz 18 with a 50 watt Weber Blue Dog

Not sure what part the amp played in the equation

But the Maz with the Blue Dog had a ton more bass
Nice tight bass

The Mazerati with Red Fang, was missin a bit
Not sure if it was soley cuz of the Red Fang
But I've had Celestion Blues sound too weak
in the bass too

Was very impressed with the tone of the 50 Weber

I actually have a 30 watt Blue Dog, and don't
get that much bass out of it
