Re-shaped Strat to get away from their headstocks but retain a bit of familiarity for traditionalists... Thoughts?

It seems to be a perfect match to your body shapes.

Personally, I feel my design differs quite significantly from the Grosh... To me, the flare on the tuning machine side of the Grosh is much more angular and wider and the opposite side is more "bulbous" in the belly of the rounding and also wider than mine. I feel the SX is more similar to mine, but still significantly different for the reasons I will describe in the next post...

I see the similarity, but the big difference in mine is in the point of the flares from the nut are far more rounded on mine giving a much more flowing line. It also slims the headstock quite significantly. There is only so much real estate in a 6-inline headstock and I feel I distinguished it from the rest pretty nicely while giving the hint of the classic... Design changes are all about subtelty which can have a very significant impact on the eye for overall design balance.

It is not groundbreakingly new, but there are enough visual que changes from what is out there to make it a unique design... just not a radical new design concept. Only so much you can do with the real estate allotted. ;)

Here is how it would look on a CB-II... The neck pocket and bottom still have jig extensions on them... It's just pressed into place... This also does not have the new configuration where the neck is 3/4" further back and the horns shortened slightly...

Kind of reminds me of Sadowsky bolt on headstock. It must be hard to come up w/ something new that still is acceptable to traditionionalists. Best of luck to you.

Cool Boggs. I dig the figure of the fretboard wood. I'd buy one. I think it looks killer personally.

Thanks, Bilbal! Now, what I need is somebody who actually WILL buy one! :rotflmao

Somthing I have found in design, or anythng creative in life really. If you have to ask it's probably not good enough. In other words when you finally get it you know 100% without a douobt, and whatever anyone else tells you doesn't matter anyway.

Hi Boggs. I think it looks pretty cool and original! Is it just me or why do I see a bottle opener being built into the end of it? ;)

Something tells me that with your bodies, you won't have to worry about mis-identification across a smoky barroom.;)

Thoughts?
My thoughts?
It's a shame so many people have to go to a lot of effort to avoid looking like something that was a total rip off to begin with ... of both several centuries old traditional instruments, as well as another well known guitar and vibrato maker of the time.
