Hi y'all! Anyone here have any good resources/advice for troubleshooting/repairing electronics on a Casino? I've just started playing mine again after a couple of years of inactivity and it seems to "short out" when plugged in. If I wiggle the cable in the input jack and/or turn the volume pots, it seems to subside momentarily, but the "fix" is not consistent enough that I can just play w/o issue.
Any thoughts here are appreciated!
I should say, that, yes, this is a mid-90s casino, MIK. In it's history, I've replaced both pups and I believe the switch. I believe the pots and input jack are original..and I know all about the history of error prone Epi electronic componentry.

have you thought about just up and refinishing the guitar? something with a high-end luster, or at least some kind of NOS sheen to it, will probably help you with the guitar shorting you out of what you're looking for. it might also be advisable to pop some bumblebee caps into the Casino, as they have an exponentially positive effect on tone, not to mention sustain, feel, sits-in-the-mix, pick attack, and overall longevity, imho.

Funny you should mention this..I actually did want to go the bumblbee route eventually, but I'm a newb at this and figured I'd start slow. You know, just get the thing working first...And oddly enough, I've thought of turning this from a sunburst to a Lennon-style natural model...but I think I need to tackle one thing at a time, no? When you say high-end lustre? What can you recommend?
I've heard that these thin-hollowbodies can be devilish to work on.:mob
