Gibson ga 8 t owners

What tubes have you tried and which brand do you think works best for this amp? how inportant is the rectifier tube?any info greatly appreciated.Scott

RCA 6BQ5's and 6EU7's. Rectifier really doesn't matter.
When I had mine it took a while to dial in a good tone. I found the volume works well between 7&10 with the bass and treble on 7 or 8. Other settings sounded bland to me.
