Do you do solo using neck pickup or bridge pickup? and why?
I use neck pup for almost all of my solo coz I like that smooth sound from it that the treble pup can give and treble for rhythm use.

Me too.
I like teh thick smooth tone of a neck pup on an LP. Bridge cuts a bit more and has better definition for rhythm. Arpeggios chime more too on a bridge.

I use all positions depending on the song and the vibe. My #1 is a Jackson Soloist with a Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge, a hand wound in the middle and a Duncan little 59' in the neck. I don't use many effects so most of my variety comes from pickup selection and playing style. I change both often.

I used to use the bridge pickup exclusively.
For the last 6 or 7 years, though, it's been primarily the neck pickup, switching occasionally to the bridge for emphasis.
I also do play a fair amount in the middle position, varying the volume and tone on the individual pickups for more of a tonal palette.
neck pick up rules! it's all i ever play

I can't stand treble and mid, so I use the middle and rhythm/neck selection on my Les Paul. I should just disable the Treble/bridge position on the switch.

I have a H-S-S strat, and I use all 5 positions for both solos and rhythm playing.
Why?
Because each position has a unique voice and I don't see the need to limit my sonic palette to *only* a lead sound and *only* a rhythm sound.
YMMV

In most styles, the neck pickup is fun, but it's become so cliche'. It's very easy to sound clean on it. I think a two year old with a broken arm could sound good on a neck pickup on most solid bodies. A bridge pickup is where it all hangs out for better or worse!

I use both, sometimes switching multiple times in the space of one solo.

Totally depends on the style, the intensity, and the vibe of the song. I've used all three positions on an LP-type guitar, and all five positions on a Strat, depending on the sound I'm looking for.

Yup.

All depends on the guitar & style I'm playing. Most of my lead stuff will be done with the bridge pu until I either want a strat tone(neck) or that sig LP tone(neck).

I use both, together, and have adjusted the height of each, to get the balance I want.
