MXL 990 vs 990s

Anyone one own either the MXL 990 or the 990s? Both are the same basic mic, but the 990s also has a -10dB pad and 150Hz low-cut switch. They are currently the same price as well. Not really sure what the extra "stuff" gives you in a fairly inexpensive recording setup.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I've got the 990S. The pad and low cut are nice to have when micing loud guitar cabs.
