You solder the leads to the little panel that hides beneath your humbucker, then the tiny black microswitches on the bezel allow series, parallel, or either coil. :BEER
Pinch the two mini switches towards each other and the humbucker coils are in normal series. Push the two switches apart and the switches are parallel. Push both switches forward or both back to turn on one coil or the other.
Very cool.... I want to get a pair of these for my Black Limba PRS style guitar so I can get those kinds of pickup combinations without drilling a bunch of mini-switch holes in the top (or for those who don't like using a 5 way rotary.)
I also imagine how clean it would look on a 1 humbucker guitar to just have 1 volume knob... and then this custom bezel.

It's pretty cool. I wonder why no one tried to do this years ago?

Interesting.

I think it's a cool idea, but I wonder how easy it is to use while playing? Now, granted, I think push-pull pots are a pain in the ass, but at least I don't need to get near the strings to use those. Also, it looks like the rings are flat, so I wouldn't be able to use them on any of my guitars :(
What would be ultra-cool is a super package that integrated a P-rails with one of these. That way, all you would need to do is solder in the hot and ground and you'd be all set.

In the demo I watched online... they used them with the P-Rails... switch them for humbucker/parallel coils/P90/ or rail.

Yeah, I doubt they would have even designed it if not for the P-Rails, but it would be a bit easier for consumers if it were integrated. Or, hell if you could order any SD humbucker and have it pre-wired to the ring.

That's a great solution. I'm tempted to try that on my Ibanez semi-hollow, as I don't want to deal with pulling pots out of the f-holes.

whats the list price?
it does not seem like it would be easy to work on the fly.
ill stick with the pushbuttons.

This isn't that kind of solution. In some cases a push pull is better for a quick, simple coil tap... but in the case of the P-Rails (pobably what they developed this for) if someone wanted to be able to switch between P90, Humbucker, Rail, parallel coils or whatever, they wouldn't be able to do it on a guitar like a PRS McCarty with one volume, one tone, and a 3 way without drilling a bunch of holes for mini-switches.
This allows the combination of flexibility without turning your guitar into a BC Rich. ;)
I found out list price is $69 for a pair... so I'm guessing $40-50 street.

This will be great in the recording studio. Also great for performance, I mean come on, how many of us go from P-90 to Series to SC in one song here? Pick a flavor and use your V knob and p'up selector for variation. Then switch it around between songs.
Good usable idea.

Exactly. Or set the bridge pickup to one sound and the neck to something different and use the toggle. :BEER

Nice idea but I never like the extra tones it would give you as much as the standard ones.
