Anyone familar with these? I guess they cut the nut slot wider and put an Earvana nut on. It doesn't have the screws on it and actually looks nice.
I'm wondering how good of a job they do.

It is a direct retro fit for the LSR roller nut .The ones Ive seen where very neat.
(not many yet though.) It is a flat bottom slot ,very easy for them to cut ,no reason think it would be a problem .

I dont know about earvana and warmoth necks specifically but I have used them 3 times. In all cases the tone of the guitar was compromised.
That material they use is too soft. After that last time I did it myself I took it to my tech and he said has had installed them too and in all cases the customer was dissapointed. The all had muffled open strings with no pop. On my guitars and the customer's guitars we had to build the nut slots up with bone dust and superglue to get a better sound.
To me it falls into the good idea camp but not executed well. If they could make them out of bone or even tusq I might be interested.
I love warmoth necks and my last one I opted for the standard corian nut to save some money. I used it for a while but eventually took it to my tech to get a bone nut. What a difference.
Sorry I didnt answer your original question in regards to warmoth and their installed earvana nuts but I wont go the earvana route again until they change the material and neither will my tech.
You gotta think that material they use has to be able to be bent to accomodate many different radius'. They dont want them to snap so they use a soft and pliable material.

I have installed three Earvana retrofit nuts and there was no need to widen the nut slot. Looks like the precut one is a new offering - be advised though it's a one way ride - there is no easy way of going back to a normal nut - just like Buzz Feiten's used to be.

Thanks. Mike are you talking about the one with the screws on top for adjustment? I want the kind that looks a little more normal. I thought they had to move the nut slot closer to the first fret for the compensation.?

Warmoth says the Earvana is white corian.
One thing I've found out is I don't like the sound of bone nuts when I had lutheirs put them in my strats. I much preferred the Fender micarata (I think they called it) stock nuts. The bone nuts all gave my open notes a sharper pingyness that I didn't like.
I haven't tried anything else.

Yes - the ones I have retro fit have adjustment screws in the top. No issue with them in my experience but I can see your point looks wise.
