I was wondering if there where something close to the two mentioned pedals in the heading out there - available with not too long wait. It has to be something that can be bought new pretty quickly to clearify, unobtanium or discontinued pedals is not what I am looking for.
TIA for all help :)

Maybe the Fulltone Catalyst, coming out in a couple weeks,, you can read about it at Fulltones web site.

plenty of alternatives to the '69. sunface nkt comes to mind first. check out product lines from throbak (stonebender?) and mjm. . . that's just for starters.

A good fuzz with germanium transistors will do it. How about the new Denis Cornell 1st Fuzz? I own the Fuzz Face pedal he made a couple of years ago in the original round Arbiter enclosure and it's fantastic and hardly mentioned on this forum.
So the 1st Fuzz he has just brought should be the same in the circuitry but in a different box. I don't know how available it is in the USA but try and check one out.
Otherwise as said, how about Analogman Sunface NKT? I don't own one, but I do have a Beano Boost which is amazing.

Yeah, I would say either a Sunface or an MJM London Fuzz. Both great fuzzes in my opinion.

Thanks! Keep em comming.
It is important that the "Tonebender" has a tone controll and you don't get a volume drop with it - some boost of the signal is needed.

NKT Sunface...spanks the 69 if you want fuzz, imo.

MJM London (both versions depending on whther you are after the Ge or Si sound). Very good, reasonably priced pedals, and a good builder to deal with.

I own both the Fulltone 69 and the London Fuzz (ge).
They sound completely different - nothing alike at all.
I also own a bunch of other fuzz pedals, Roger Mayer Stone Fuzz, MI Audio Neo, Aramat Mojo Fuzz and Soul Patch, MJM Foxey Fuzz and a Big Muff. There may be other ones that I can't think of right now.
They all sound very different from one another.
The '69 is versatile and cleans up beautifully. The Roger Mayer also cleans up great, sounds much fatter but has no tone control.
The MJM London Fuzz is good if you happen to have the for you correct combination of guitar and amp to go with it.
I do like my new MI Audio Neo Fuzz, which I intend to use as a replacement for my (now rare) '69. It has many options and is very tweakable. Then I can keep the '69 safely at home/studio.
I think if you like the '69, you probably like it for three reasons.
It sounds great, it cleans up and it is versatile enough to go with most amps.
Check into the MI Audio pedals.
With Fuzz pedals you really need to try with your own amp and guitar.
Some sound great with one amp and horrible with another amp.
I do like pedals that give you the option to go into different amps, e.g. pedals that have a tone knob.
Hope this helps. But, as I read the MJM London comparism to the '69 a lot, they do not sound similar or behave similar at all.

BYOC ESV Fuzz + MkII?
I have to say, I'm happy as can be with my Analogman Sunface (within my sunlion) and my BYOC Bender.
If you're into soldering, you can get both pedals, as posted by Johan, from BYOC for about the price of just one from a builder. I can vouch for the bender(mkII)... haven't heard the ESV Fuzz (fuzzface) yet, but if any of the other BYOC's I've tried are any indication, it should be great.

And the 3-knob MJM BritBender is a phenomenal Tone Bender MKIII clone (same pedal the SoulBender is a clone of). I've owned both and they are very similar. Both very high quality.

prescription electronics yardbox is a nice 'bender clone... very comparable to the soulbender I use to own
I think 3 knob Benders are a lot less common than germ Fuzz Faces ('69). I mean the '69 has these other tweakable parameters and certain voicing, but I think if you are looking for a substitution, AM Sunface is good. Addrock Geranium has different tweakable parameters. I think MJM is making a 3 knob Bender now, but I haven't heard it.

I haven't used the other pedals Throbak sell but the Overdrive Boost is utterly superb. I suspect the Stone Bender and Fuzz Haze are very good.
