I was just wondering i have one of these. I just had it tested,it tested
very well. Would this make a good V1 position for a Fender type amp?
Any opinions welcome.

+1 you won't know till you try. Even though it tests fine it might be too microphonic for that position. I tried three JAN 12at's in my Valvulator before I found one that was quiet enough.

I have 4 Phillips 12AX7 long plates. They really sound great to my ears in BF Fenders but are somewhat microphonic. I understand that this is common with some long plate designs. Not familiar with the JAN Phillips so I don't know if this will pertain to your situation?

PS - It's my understanding that JAN designation tubes are usually subject to higher durability standards than the commercial stuff.

JAN Philips (ECG) 12AX7WA are more prone to microphonics than most short-plate tubes. You may like it, but I feel there are better choices, amongst vintage tubes, to be had for your V1. Depends on what you have - if all Sovtek, then you'll be in for a treat with the ECG.

I find those tubes to be great for power chords (would go great with a Les Paul Jr.). They've very punchy lows, crispy highs, but the mids are indistinct. They've medium to low clarity for long-plate NOS 12AX7.

Only way you'll know is to try, and then formulate your own opinion.
