I have tried searching here and at wiki but the info is not complete, so I hope someone can help out, please.
Of the all various models of KT66, 6V6, 6L6 and EL34, which tube would be the tallest and what is the height (inches would be most helpful) of the tallest one? Or what is the minimum interior height one should consider when scouting for an empty head cabinet?
Thanks.

The height is not specific to the tube type, but the brand. You can contact each manufacturer and get their spec sheets, which will tell you. Usually EL34's are the tallest, but different brands have slight differences in dimensions.
As for an empty head cabinet, most are made specifically for amplifiers already. Are you trying to have one made from scratch and don't know how big to make it? Or are you trying to find a cabinet to put an old amp into? If it is an old amp, then the size should already be ok. If it is for a new amp, take an EL34, and add one inch to it's height, and you should be fine. That will cover air circulation needs.

FWIW, I have a 5u4 at 4 3/4 in tall. BIG bottle.
6550's and 6ca7/el34 at a bit under 4 in. 6L6 even shorter but variable.

I've seen vintage 6L6's in short, medium, and extra tall glass (same size as a 5U4). Sylvania Tube manual has a 6L6G coming in at 4 3/4 inches from the base to the top of the glass, or 5 5/16 with pins.
There are some oddball tubes that are even bigger.

Thanks very much for the info.
I'm having a head cab built for a new Giller amp that'll take KT66, 6V6, 6L6 and EL34 and want to make sure I give the builder proper info beyond chassis dimensions.
