View Full Version : Re-recorded Old Hymnal
I posted this awhile back, but I bought some new mics, re-recorded all the parts, and re-mixed this old hymnal. I know this isn't much of a guitar piece, more vocal, but I thought some of you may enjoy it.

Dude, NICE. Great vocals and guitar work. Very very cool
I'd love to know the deets of your setup.
Thanks a lot for the kind words. I've worked on this recording a lot trying to make it as good as I can given my modest setup and home 'studio'.
For acoustic I used (2) MXL MCA SP1 SDCs through a M-Audio DMP3 pre in stereo with one mic pointed at the 12th fret and the other over my right shoulder. Vocals were a Rode NT1 through the DMP3. Bass was a really cheap fernandes jazz bass through the AXE-FX which has a a really great bass amp model. The electric is a '91 Ibanez RG through the AXE-FX using one of the existing presets. All recording done in Reaper. I'm new at using auto-tune, and I am still getting some distortion on some of the plosives, I need to figure this out but at this point the song is 95% of the way there.
Again, thanks for the encouragement. I've posted this link on several websites, and I hadn't heard anything. I figured folks just hated it!
