View Full Version : Tele wiring

I recently bought a batch of pickups in the emporium. Among them were a Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker and a Lil' 59 tele bridge pickup. I'd like to put them in one of my teles. What would be the best way to wire them? Would coil-splitting be a good idea on one or both of the pickups and how would that be done in a straightforward inexpensive way? Push-pull pots or some other way?

Funny - I was playing one of my Dad's Tele's over the past week and it has a Lil' 59 in the bridge. His was set up for split coil using a push pull pot on the tone pot. Good spot for it, IMO. I would probably use a spring loaded verion but, that's me. I'll have to check on exactly how it's wired up. That Lil' 59 did sound good when split.
