View Full Version : When I connect speakers to both of the amp's outs, should ohm switch be changed?

So, the amp has two speaker out jacks (I'm assuming in parallel since you can connect to either one and get sound). Plus, the amp has an output switch (4, 8, or 16 ohms).

So my question: If I plug in two separate 8 ohm cabs (one in each of the amp's output jacks), should I leave the output switch on 8 ohms or change it to 16?

Thanks!

Two 8 ohm cabs in parallel is 4 ohms.

Thanks!

And wouldn't you know it: The cabs are loaded with Scumbacks!

Wait, I hate to be so thick---but what if I mix a 16 ohm Celestion and an 8 ohm Scumback? Would leave the load somewhere in the middle--like 12?
