I'm now looking into the weber speakers for my 57 deluxe. I also wanted to know the difference between the 12a125 & the 12f125, anyone??

I would drop by www.tedsforums.com (http://www.tedsforums.com) or ask Ted directly, but as a generalisation you could say AlNiCo compresses and fattens earlier than the ceramic variant. The diff is about the same as Alnico and ceramic pickups.

A sounds more vintage than C. A might suit singlecoils or other bright and twangy pickups better than F, A might sweeten the trebles of an bright, edgy or twangy amplifier.

The alnico could be said to sound more musical, though the sleek and sweet sound may be a bit bland for some.

The '57 Deluxe: At this time AlNiCo was stock in the Fenders. Depends a bit on the tone you're shooting for but it seems AlNiCo would be the obvious route to go.
The Twin Reverb: We're talking Blackface here and Alnico hung on well into this era even though ceramics were indeed being produced and for less money.

I myself am an Alnico-guy, though that has a lot to do with my choice of pickups, going against my principles and going with Lace Transensors. Their brittleness is well handled by the Alnico and the effect is some kind of supernatural vintage. But enough about me now.
