Dude, this drummer must just get absolutely pummeled by this guy's amps! Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that one of those 8X12 speaker cabs he's running here? Crazy.

And then while it's feeding back like crazy Dan squats just a few inches away from it. Though, I kind of wonder it that Marshall is even on. There is some sort of Fender in front of the Marshall, I'd guess it's a Twin.

From what I can tell, The Black Keys are a very high volume band.

The way this guy beats up his kit makes me doubt that he hears anything from the guitar guys amps ...

The sound these two get live is unreal. I've seen 5 piece bands that can't fill as much space. Nice clip!

Who knows, but they are two totally different fuzz blues bands.

within the last 5 years of most all bands - this band has impressed me the most.

In the times I've seen them I have noticed the following -
- He uses two amps - that huge cab is usually pointed off stage to the back stage left.
- In this tv audience, I'm sure he didn't want to blow the hosts' head off, so he pointed it to his cousin on the drums. :)
- In normal venues, they sound fuller than the white stripes ever thought of sounding. From what I can tell it's because of that huge amp filling the stage area at top volume.
- He also riffs on the tunes beyond the album cuts and it just sounds great - you can tell the two of them just enjoy to jam together.

Marshall 8x10". Had one long ago with a matching 50w head. Monstrously awesome.

What I've heard from these guys I've liked OK but I just get bored after awhile without a bassline. I feel the same about the white Stripes, too. I like them and I like their songs for the most part, but 40 minutes into their show I was done.

Cool looking guitar he's got. According to some of the youtube comments: "Its a Harmony Stratotne H47 Mercury, modded with two P90's".

No, actually I don't. I really don't think age has anything to do with musical taste. If you like their music, great. I don't......so what???

Sorry, but I think these guys are junk. And just to stay on topic here...I don't get the concern over earplugs. These guys are nowhere near as loud as any hard rock/metal act, especially the drummer. He just sounds loud because he slamming that damn ride cymbal the whole time.

Go check out My Bloody Valentine. Now that's a band that needs to be concerned about earplugs.

The sound is great but the execution is too lousy. Sounds like an unrehearsed band.

The off the cuff-ness is what makes it great.

"Nah man, we just play off the cuff"

Exactly, who wants to hear the exact same song execution everytime, besides a Britney fan?
