Alright guys, I'm kind of new here, started out with some posts about my Deville and tried to help some others find a sweet tone with theirs, the secret being lower gain tubes throughout the entire preamp section. Now I've got some guitar questions. Just to start, I've got an Epi SG, goth edition, that I reworked with sperzel tuners, bone nut, and a duncan jazz in the neck with a duncan JB in the bridge, coil split on the neck and series/paralell in the bridge. I also have a MIK Lite Ash Stratocaster that comes with Duncan single coils, just the standard staggered series, APS or whatever they call them. Being just amazing as it is, I don't really want to mess with it too much. I've been thinking about finding a new strat type guitar to mess with, maybe an HSH configuration, an HSS config, or just SSS. The problem I keep running into is what kind of pick up should I shove in the middle position? Whether it be running with 2 other humbuckers or 2 other single coils, I'm just a little clueless as to what should drop in that middle slot. If it helps, I play anything from blues to hard rock, and I actually like the middle position on my Strat for a bluesy chunky rythm/riff.
Any suggestions?

The first thing I'd do is pull that chassis out of that Deville and send it to Jim Price at Omega Amps for his superb (and cheap) mod job. You might find it money better spent - (I know there are many here who will agree) After that I'd think about pickups :AOK

I've heard a lot of good things about these mods. But I'm not upset with the tone of my deville in the least. I love the way it sounds with 12AT7s across the board. But I appreciate the advice.
