I am not sure if anyone has talked of this guy before but I saw him open for Jason Isbell the other night and in my opinion he stole the show. I had never heard of him.

So I saw him play live before ever hearing his music. His live show was freaking great. He played with another guy who switched from Banjo to Mandolin to Harp and sang backups. His music and dress was full of old honky tonk folk music.
This has been rare but on occasion I have seen someone play guitar in such a way that the audio and visual didn't sync up. Sometimes his fingers and hands did not seem to sync up. His guitar tone was amazing and he was quite purcusive in his player which I think assumed for some really great over tones. Even more amazing was the multi-instrumentalist. He ripped it up on all of the instruments.
So, then checked out his myspace and the music is much different. But I added some clips from youtube with and without his multi-instrumentalist buddy which is the closest to what I witnessed live.
Best part of the show. Isbell joined him on stage and they played an absolutely amazing cover of I Can't Wait - The Replacements. This show in St. Paul, MN
