With Thorn Artisan Deluxe 140:

Little longer, but I do cleans and a quick sweep of the guitar at the back 1/2.

Thanks, Mike!
Sounds like a good amp that just sounds great with the minimum of bells and whistles (you know where I'm coming from....) I really like that in an amp and the Greer excells at it.

Best, Pete.
PS Not listened to the Thorn Artisan clip yet but I will tomorrow. Thanks again.

Yeah I'm with you Pete, I want to get cool tones with a minimal of stuff in between. Love that about Nick's amps. I just cannot get comfortable on this strat. Arrggh!

Still kicking myself for selling a MIM 50's that was fantastic. But you know, it was MIM, so I could do better right? Wrong. LOL

Thank you sir!

Couple people asked...
Tube compliment in all the vids:

Sovtek 5AR4
GT labeled E34L's. (Pretty well used...a few gigs and a bunch of practice on them)
Sovtek LPS 12AX7 in the Phase Inverter
Tung Sol RI 12AX7 in V1

I actually tried some NOS stuff in the pre at one point....and I prefer the TS/Sovtek right now. A good EH12AX7 will drop the gain a bit and smooth out the cleans.

Sounds good Mike....FWIW....in my Thunderbolt I'm running

Sovtek 5AR4
GT labeled JJ E34LS
JJ ECC83S 12AX7 in PI
TAD 7025 in V1

Cool. I was running KT77's for awhile. I like that a lot, but it 'cleans up' the amp a bit. Fine with pedals, but when I'm wanting more amp dirt, I like the E34L's.

Yeh....I really like the E34L's too....the 7025 really was a nice tweak for my style. Might do some further experimenting in that slot. The Tung Sol you are rockin sounds really good. And I really like the new TS 6L6's....so I'm sure their preamp tubes are no exception.

T bolt sounds really good with those TS 6L6's in it. Completely revoices the amp of course.

Sounds good Mike!!

I've heard some good things about the Greer Master Volume... How would you rate it? Can you really get a decent sound at low volumes?

It works very well. The T Bolt still needs a bit of juice to get really big sounds but it's not bad choked down. At home I have it on around 2 MV and 7 Channel, and that's a lot of dirt. Not cranked plexi DiMartini dirt, but good amount of drive.

Mike, The T Bolt is at its best with an "m" speaker and single coils!! Articulate and spring-y but a smooth top end.

.....but, ya know, thats just my opinion and you know how I am...:hide

That strat clip reminds me of the Tbolt/M75/ASAT tones!

My 2 favs: Strat clip; Thorn Jr 90 clip.
Thanks again Mike!

Didn't know you even owned a Strat! You been hiding some guilty secrets from us? :)

Nothing to say - great playing, great sounding amp. Is it an artifact of the video recording, or is there kind of a vibe-y/modulated thing happening on the first part of the Strat clip? Whatever, it kills!

No vibe..Hmm...wonder what that was. funny string maybe?
Dunno.

Thanks for the kudos Dave! Yeah I got a partscaster. But...I hate it. LOL
