Okay, this is my second and last thread about these Road Worn guitars. I know this topic is getting beaten to death, but I wanted to share these videos I recorded late last night when I was feeling good. :)

Damn the Thupmeister in action!!!!!! great stuff thanks for posting that. I am soooo tempted to add a RW Strat but I love my EJ so much I can't put that one down.
My RW Tele continues to make me very happy.

nice tone! got that woody thing to it. They sound better than the Custom Shop videio with their expensive strats.

Guitars sound sweet. Is the strat a new addition to the collection?

No question, the Roadworns just get it done!
These really are the best value in a vintage style Fender that I've ever seen. Right out of the box they give up the goods and your video is an excellent example of that.
I love those tones and the playing is great!

Thanks guys. I bought both the '50s Strat and '50s Tele in the past week. Got the Tele first and really liked it, so went back and dug through some Strats to pick out a TOTAL winner. Went in there for the '60s Strat with the rosewood board, but after comparing several, I landed on this '50s Strat and she's a nice one for sure.
Sold my PRS McCarty yesterday to pay for both, so now I have my trusty R8, this Strat, and this Tele. :)
I should also point out that I changed strings and adjusted the pickups a hair on both guitars when I got them home, but haven't adjusted ANYTHING else. The action and neck on these two were perfect from the factory. Haven't checked the intonation yet (having too much fun playing them right now!)
And yeah, "woody" is the term I use to describe them too!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I play the same 5 licks over and over again in every video I've ever recorded, every lead I've ever put to tape, every lead I play in bands (whether it's Enter Sandman or Funky Music), etc...
But... I'm too lazy to learn anything new. he he

Nice vid Chris. Thanks for sharing. And the playing was very good too. I am intrigued by these guitars. Wish i had a deizel around these parts to try out. Did you buy it without getting to test drive it? (the deizel)? If i bought one, i probably wouldn't be able to try it first.

Nice vids Sarge. I noticed that you had also had a vid of a K-line strat and was wondering how the RW strat compares. Sorry if you covered this already in another thread. Thanks.

Those vids speak for themselves. Anyone doubting that these guitars sound terrific needs to check out the demos posted here.

Thanks for the vids Sgt! I can't decide which one I like better! Almost like the strat just a 'hair' better. ;)

Very nice playing! I played the 50's Strat and was very happy with it. Not my fave radius, but a good piece of work by Fender.

Thanks guys! I was reluctant about the vintage fretboard radius too, but I'm either getting used to it or the bigger frets on these guitars make up for it a bit. Not sure, but they're pretty fun to play!
I had an Einstein before that I bought after hearing a friends, then I sold it and regretted it. That was a few years ago. I got another Einstein a couple of months ago and am digging it alot. It's a great amp if you ask me!

That's a good question. Both have a light nitro relic'ed finish and both sound fantastic. The K-Line had a 9.5 fretboard radius, but smaller frets. The K-Line also had Lollar Blackface pickups and a blend control.
To be honest with ya, I think I like this Road Worn Strat just as much as my old K-Line, but unfortunately, I can't compare them side-by-side.
The Road Worn Strat was half the price of the K-Line and I think I like it just as much!

Meh, I was hoping my thread wouldn't get moved to the "Gear Video Demo & Sound Clips" wasteland... Threads die a sudden death here. lol...

Thump, I really like what you chose to play in your demo. All too often demos get to be more about, "Check out my chops" instead of laying back and allowing the viewer to grok the sounds the guitar is capable of.
You really showed how warm and woody the Roadworns are, and how they tend to give up the classic Fender tones.
Once again, great job!

Hey thanks! I had someone giving me hell about my "demo" videos the other day saying I sucked and stuff. I checked out that dudes videos and of course, it's just him shredding and showing off. I don't even think he played any riffs at all to hear any rhythm tones. Those videos are worthless to me.
But besides that, this is how I really play anyway! lol! Unfortunately, I'm no fretboard wizard. :)

Taste beats wizardry anyway! :AOK
Thanks for posting. Very cool demos!
Good brown-ish sound out of traditional-sounding Strat pickups with that Diezel!

Sounds awesome. And how 'bout that amp?! Wow, I'm really digging those sounds.

Thanks again. Yeah, the Diezel Einstein is one rocking amp. I used Channel 1 modes 2 and 3 only in these videos. Never switched to mode 1 (clean) or Channel 2 (super high gain.)

:AOK Nice! You demo'd the Guitars. What a concept!!! :AOK
The bonus was you were not still chewing food you were snacking on.;) and I wasn't lost in my Why?Why?WHY? zone trying to listen beyond the wanking.
I played a dozen of those a couple of weeks ago. Very cool guitars for the money and ya don't have to put a Fender Decal on them to be cool. Thanks for the demo.Keith

Hey thanks guys! I'm off work this week and have been spending every single night down in my music room while everyone's in bed just playing around on my stuff. I've gotta say that I'm really bonding with my guitars right now (R8 Les Paul and these two Fenders). That can change at any second, but I'm enjoying it this week while I can. lol
I've also been playing a tiny wee bit out of my safe zone, which tells me that I'm inspired by these guitars. That's a cool thing.

lol, ditto, we should form a band, we could do 5 minute gigs. :)
I can usually stretch it out pretty long during a gig... The same licks sound a little different when played clean, with medium distortion, full blown high gain distortion, with delay, without delay, with wah, without wah, with phaser, without phaser, with bridge pickup, with neck pickup, etc...
Then when I run out of all of that, I'll flip the guitar up behind me head or something and play the same licks. But the crowd is drunk and all into it by then, so they don't realize I'm still playing the same things. :)

Hey Sarge -
I' totally agreeing with John (Rhinocaster) - Those Roadworns seem to really 'get it done'.
Nice playing, really good demo of the both of the guitar's sounds too.
Thanks, I'm a believer, Dana O.

But the question is: are ALL those Road Worn sounding snappy and woody like that!! Listening to your video clips just drive me :NUTS because those inexpensive mexican axes seems to sound better than my CS strat
But do we have to try a lot of them to find the good ones??
+ the Einstein is probably a big part of it too...

I did go through 4 or 5 Strats to pick this one out (some were tthe '60s model and some were the '50s model). This one felt and sounded better to me, but mainly felt better.
As far as the Tele goes, it's the only one the store had in stock. I picked it up and it spoke to me right away, so I bought it. I didn't get to go through a bunch of those.
Also, I just added a black pickguard to the Tele and now it looks MUCH better!

Hey, thanks! There's alot of "justified hype" going on with these new guitars, which happens with just about any new piece of gear. But yeah, the two I have sound good for sure. There's not studio trickery in these vids. It's just a cheap little digital camera that can record video, my Einstein with some reverb from an Intellifex through the loop, and these guitars. They really do sound excellent to me.

That Tele looks MUCH better with the black pickguard, huh? Just did that today and I absolutely love the looks.

Hey thanks! I've used the Tele at two rehearsals/jams now and it's an incredible guitar.
