alright, the book just arrived. after skimming through the book, there is a lot of repetitiveness. there does seems to be a lot of wasted pages that aren't really necessary. with that said, this book is still very helpful in that i can look up a chord progression and find the different scales/modes that can be used over it, although if you were knowledgeable in theory you would already know what can be played. at first i though this book was largely based on theory because it starts out that way, but then quickly moves in to chords and patterns, which is good too.

i give the book a B.

I had this book years ago and what I liked were the chord progressions near the end of the book. basically advanced chords written out in a key. It taught me how some of the more "advanced" or wierder chords worked with each other on the fretboard.
