Hi
I've got a strat which I like a lot, except the american deluxe tremolo bridge. The trem arm is located much closer to volume pot and high E string than in american standard or vintage type bridge. And I hate it. I love the pop-in arm, but to me it feels misplaced, after playing strats for last 30 years!
I looked at Callaham parts, but my strat has gold plated parts and it looks like Callaham does not have that option.
Does anyone know if the 2 pivot american standard bridge is a drop in replacement for american deluxe bridge?
Many thanks for your help.

the 2 point Am Stnd bridge will drop into your guitar no problem as a full assembly (plate and block) BUT...it has a screw in trem if memory serves.
The Gotoh stuff comes in gold - try looking at those yet? Not sure if they have pope in arms I thought they do...
Thanks, the screw in trem is not a problem for now. The main thing is to have a drop in replacement quickly, without need to make any surgery to the guitar body. I've ordered am std tremolo kit already.

Bill Callaham did gold parts up until around 2007 I think.
No harm in doing a WTB and see if you snag a used one in 8 weeks or eight months, I suppose.
What I wanna know is why doesn't someone do a pickguard with the volume knob shoved down a little.
No chance I'll be the next Jeff Beck, not in this life or any of the 20 to follow.

The Am Std and the DLX trems share the same baseplate .
The only difference is the block has a pop in bar mech and the saddles are polished.
The difference in feel is the angle an hight of the right angle bend in the bar as it comes out of the top.

True and not true.
These trems share the same baseplate, but the trem arm hole position is not identical. In dlx trem it is close to front edge whereas in am std trem it is close to back edge. Put them side by side and you'll see what I mean.

Check out the Wilkinson Vintage Trem - have used a Gold one for years on my Walnut The Strat, and it works very well.
