Has anybody heard any rumours if they are going to make a reverb pedal to go with the others?

Really need rack-quality killer reverb in a pedal that can do BOTH line level and killdry.

Hardwire RV-7 will work just fine at line leves, and its Lexicon reverbs sound very nice...

nothing but rumours at the moment. But on the Eventide forum eventide have been asking what people would want in a "killer reverb" it was not an official thing just a question to requests.

and yes, I would buy one .... i have the other 3 and LOVE them!

Cheers

I think the best reverbs are ones that allow you to modulate the delay lines within them.

That is the key secret along with the early reflection diffusion to the world's best Lexcion reverbs from the 224 and the 480L and now the PCM96.

I think a killer reverb allows for the control of these things:

1) pre delay
2) reverb decay
3) Size of space
4) Diffusion
5) Modulation of reverb delay lines (rate and depth controls)
6) Control over the shape of the onset of reverb (how it swells in or just goes SPLAT!!!)
7) The EQ of the highs and lows of the reverb's frequency response

I think Eventide should offer a good selection of Halls, plates and rooms. Reverse reverb and their plex reverbs which are 8 modulated delay lines that feed back into each other.

But the real audience of reverb pedals are the shoegazer and ambeint crowd. What those people love is the sound of modulated delay lo-fi delays like tape echo and Deluxe memory Man with the vibrato on feeding into 100% wet long modulating hall reverb. That combination creates the swirling trail of ambient bliss.

U2 made this famous sound with the help of Eno and lanois by feeding pitch shifted regenerating delays from the AMS DMX 15-80s into this exact thing I descrivbe above - modulating lo-fi delays feeding long modulating hall reverb. They had to use 2 units to achieve this though. The lexicon Primetime delay (very lo-fi...nothing above 3kHz) and the Lexicon 224 reverb on a long hall setting with the reverb chorusing (modulation) cranked up.

If Eventide could come up with a preset in one of the banks that gave the sound of frequency and resolution controlled modulating delays (tape echo like) feeding into 100% wet modulating hall reverb....that one preset alone would sell the unit to millions.

That Boss RV-3 delay/reverb pedal that all the shoegazer, ambeint reverb nuts are so crazy about has presets where delays feed into lonf reverb 100% wet. The only problem with the Boss is the low quality of the reverb and the delay lines that feed the verb do not modulate to create that swirly texture....so the shoegazers but a phase 90 or a choralflange in front of the RV-3 to give the modualtion to the delay and reverb that follow from the pedal.

Eventide could come up with a patch that does all that without the need for 3 pedals. They should call that patch "SHOEGAZER" on the Verbfactor.

I hope Eventide is listening.

just curious, but could you give me an example of how you'd use a killdry function (footswitch i'm guessing?)

Have you posted any of this on the Eventide forum? They've asked for suggestions there.

In addition to the above, I'm just looking for the standard features that are in the other Eventide pedals--line level capability and killdry. It's gotta be a killer verb though, with great standard presets and the ability to tweak the trails. I'm not looking for any crazy effects--that is not useful to me. Just a full, rich, reverb sound ala the higher end Lexicon units.

echo unit...

EelEye made a good point, you should post this onthe eventide forum as they are good ideas.

If you do not want or can't be bothered to create an account, I will happily post it on your behalf it you want me to?

Cheers

You could point Eventide to my post if you think it is helpful.

Thanks for supporting my ideas

i heard they are doing a verbfactor

then i heard they are teaming with klon and axefx to make a KLONFACTOR FX M10 which combines all the factors plus the axefx and klon in one big pedal!!!

...and it's all a big conspiracy to get pedal addicts to drop the habbit and convert to rack systems

hi, i'm shane, i've been off pedals for a year, now i have a 4u rack family and plan to add more this year...

whether its eventide or not.. reverb really needs a box that steps it up

something that can run more than one FX simultaneously and features the classic lexicon/eventide reverbs and all the "specialty" reverbs around.. like the verbzilla (cave and octo).. digitech/hardwire (reverse).. boss (modulated, gated).. enventide's crystal echoes.. and all the other goodies

something for the ambient/shoegaze crowd.. all the controls listed by echo unit are a must
