One of the things that really bugs me is that nobody designs a decent wall wart other than the VS SPOT or maybe the Godlyke version. Unfortunately the Spot that I have won't actually power the DT RP500. Biggest Problem for me: The cords are always too short.Has anyone out there found an alternative? Why won't these manufacturer actuallly build a transformer into these things. The weight isn't the issue is it?

Slightly OT, but the lack of an internal transformer is my biggest problem with the PodXT Live. I had one that had the power source *inside* break off, and so now I'm REALLY careful about it. I wish they'd put the transformer inside and use a regular 3-prong lead like everything else.

IMHO, as weird as it sounds, that's part of why people think of them as toys -- because they don't look like they have a real power source.

It almost works. Actually I use the line 6 power supply to power my Lexicon midi floor controller for the AXE/FX. For the RP500 it's not AC it's DC 9v but the SPOT is not compatible. Maybe its the amperage. I'm not technical enough to know.

I think you're exactly right, although I couldn't put my finger on it. The perception with a wall wart is that it isn't professional level equipment. Given that most manufacturers persit in using them, there must be a reason other than cost right?

interference?
Ability to provide different supplies to differnt parts of the world?
Safety - an option to have lower voltage at the front of a stage in case of beer / water?

those would be my guesses, I may be wrong :-)

There are a few options out there, I have all three Eventide stompboxes and buy are those wall warts B I G ! add that to my Pod X3 Live and it's a nightmare!

I ended up buying smaller PSU's for the eventide that were easier to hide.

you can use different converters to swap polarity for eventide and some line6 stomps.

The issue then is that a lot of these problem pedals have to be isolated on their own. the eventides and line 6 tonecores make a lot of noise if you but them with other pedals.

Cheers
