Hi, I posted this in the effects section, but in case that was the wrong place I thought I'd post here as well.
I have heard this phenomenon on many reverb tanks, either in amps or in stand alone units, and I still don't understand what it is or how to alter it.
As an example, I have an old Traynor TR-2 solid state revrb unit that uses a 2-spring long tank. When I mute the strings on my guitar and hit a chord, the wet reverb signal is choppy, like a slapback with lots of repeats. Are any of you guys familiar with this? Some reverb units have more of this effect, some have less.
What is this choppiness due to? I would like to get rid of this choppiness and have a solid signal. Or at least minimize it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
cheers
