Sound coming and going...

Hi

I have some problems with my Marshall 5210 solid state 50w combo. Lately the sound has been dropping out. I can switch on the amp and after about 5mins the sound starts to come and go with 30secs on and 10secs off intervals... sometimes longer and sometimes it drops out completely. If I then turn it off and on the sound is back but starts dropping out after a short while.

I've tried it with different guitars, different cables and no pedals so it must be the amp.

Any suggestions?

My Marshall Master lead 30 SS amp used to drop completely out from a dirty MV pot. I cleaned all the pots and jacks with electrical contact cleaner and its worked fine since. You might first try simply plugging a cable into the loop from the send to the return in case your signal is being lost from dirty contacts(if you dont use the loop that is). Other than that it could be a lot of more involved issues going on. Bob
