Taken from car while I loaded my amp in the house between 2-2:05AM, 5/10/09. Los Angeles LAX area, Manchester /La Tijera.

It's in an old Pro-Tech gig bag w/black Eldorado hand tooled strap as in the photo. My glass bottle slide and Shubb capo were also in the pocket.

I'm filing a police report now!

Having this happen is the worst feeling in the world. Especially if you're attached to the guitar. It happened to me when I was 17. Maybe you'll luck out and find it.

There should be a special place in hell for guitar thieves.

Hope the best for you in recovering it....

That just kills me.

Here's hoping that it comes back to you.

2:00 A M?

If you traveled a short distance from the show, someone that was there followed you.

If you had a long way to go to get home, you've got a neighbor with a drug habit. He's been observing you.

Check your renters or homeowners coverage. No matter how big a percent of your income is music, you might still be OK.

Damn, sorry to hear this. Definately file an insurance claim. Your auto policy may cover that as well.

That sucks...hope you can recover it.

I always bring the guitars in from the car first since it harder to run with an amp :)

That's a good point. Ever try to run with a Super Reverb? It ain't easy! Sorry to hear about that man, hopefully combing the local pawns will scare it up.

Not that this will help you but I've never been envious of a rig (including the strap) like I am of your last picture, which is weird because I don't like 10-inch speakers and I can't play a guitar without contours.

I hope she comes home to you soon.

Thanks everyone.

I'm not expecting a miracle but maybe I'll get it back.

In the mean time I've been checking ebay and Craigs as well as pawn shops. I've started hitting the stores looking for a replacement also.

Sincerely, Jim

That's the worst. Sorry, Man. I live in San Francisco, where they'll steal anything that isn't nailed down. I lock my car even if I'm literally standing right beside it. Best of luck recovering it.

Best of luck finding it, I really, really hope it turns up for you!

Check "The Recycler" paper and website regularly, also the infamous "Craigslist" . I lost a couple of guitars many years ago. I started calling music stores and I lucked out. The culprits had wanted to sell my instruments to the store but the clerck noticed they were acting "nervous" so he declined. I got a description and realized I knew who they were. Called the cops with info and I was able to recover my Martin, LP, and Ovation. Good luck and move fast

I believe the place is a front row seat at a barbara striesand concert with whitney houston being the
opening act, and NOONE brought a tuner!!!

at least thst how I picture it.

I'd imagine whoever took it believed it was a real vintage tele. I'd be looking for more vintage tele ads rather then looking for someone listing it as a GVCG.

Hey guys,

I've been checking the bay and craigs regularly. I sent an email with the info to a friend at GC and he forwarded that to all the stores in case someone brings it in.

I'm sure the thief doesn't know it's a GVCG as Guitboxer said.

The week after it was stolen I went looking for a replacement and found a sweet Fender CS 51 Nocaster at Norman's. The neck is a little beefier and it's a hair lighter than the Pine E. I put a Lollar Special T in the bridge and a Vintage T in the neck and replaced the saddles with some brass Glendales. It sounds and plays great. Did some recording with it last Sunday with no problems.

Life goes on and I'll keep lookin'.

Thanks for checking in,

Jim
