My bassist/keyboardist just picked up a Yamaha MS150 for me at a pawn shop for $80. Apparently they were much more back in the day when new...in the $400 range? and now they're no longer sold in the US. It's a pretty small PA enclosure that I think was marketed as a keyboard amp. It's 150W and has various line inputs along with global HI/LO EQ. Seems very punchy for a small package. I don't have a lot of experience with this type of enclosure in comparison to others for sound reproduction of modelers. I'm going to use this with my newly acquired RP1000.
My main concern in asking the question is whether I'm dealing with something that can give me a good representation of what would be going through the PA when running direct. My PA is made up of Yamaha pro series speakers. Of course, other PAs I'd run through with the house sound would be different. I see the FBT Verve series is becoming very hot but it's $550 for a new enclosure. I'm hoping to find someone who's played through the Yamaha M150 and could compare it to other stuff.
