Do you find the people are anywhere near the asshats that the music gear people are ? For example, I sometimes buy/sell camera gear and cycling stuff. I find those people to always be polite, pay ontime and never give problems. They don't request zillions of pix and then not bid, or try and scam you for a partial refund, or waste your time in general like the music gear people do.

I haven't had that many problems with anyone on eBay but have found that people that buy skateboard stuff for are not as bad as musicians either. I've also found international buyers to be cooler too.

I've never experienced any buyers as deranged as musicians or gear collectors.

Some folks who buy the more expensive, used, collectible books can be just as "weird" as gear buyers.

I've had some crooks, and just extremely fussy people buy books. Many have claimed item never arrived, but tracking shows it delivered, when I mention that they suddenly find it. Others like to steal the nice clean dust jacket on my book and return it with a dirty torn jacket and say it wasn't as described. Crooks.

Most of our ebay experience has been non-musical. I've bought an amp and my wife has bought several hundred various items. I've sold two British sports cars, a tractor and a boat--largely to pay for the several hundred items my wife bought. With only one exception (a vase she bought that arrived broken), all of our ebay transactions have been without issues.

i tried to sell some of my wife's bags and shoes before. NEVER AGAIN. apparently there are tons of folks out there selling imitation and counterfeit stuff, so folks were slamming me accusing me of selling imitation crap. oh believe me i wish it was all cheap copy stuff! in the end i couldn't get value for any of it since folks just wouldn't bid for it unless you jumped through 10,000 hoops proving it was real. ever try to get motivated to find out what makes a bag or a shoe legit versus not legit? pain in the butt. then sell it on an eBay account that is 99% guitar gear stuff? oh boy.
