I'm trying to downsize my pedalboard, and I use a bypass box for my Boss Tuner, so I was thinking of re-housing the TU-2 into the smallest box I could with no on/off switch...have any of you done this? If not, but you have rehoused your TU-2, can you post a picture by any chance? I'm trying to get an idea of what's possible with the size of the TU-2 guts. Much thanks for any help any of you can offer. Cheers!

the boss tu2 does not colour your tone in the slightest...its a great tuner...look how many pros use the damn thing...and why would you need to make it smaller its as small as pedals get no?

hey, if you can post a rehoused tu-2, show pictures.

if you want something smaller with true bypass there are a couple of little black tuners floating around that are popular here.

Why would you? I doubt that any re-housing would provide better protection than the rock solid boss box.

Hey andrewface, thanks for your reply and yes, you are right in regards to countless pros using the TU-2, I'm not negating that fact, and I like the buffer in the TU-2, so I'm not dogging that either. Yes, it's the same size as any other traditional-sized Boss pedal, but I had in mind to see if I could get into an even smaller enclosure. If you saw my pedalboard, you would understand. I spent a lot of money on a custom-made pedalboard/flightcase combo, and am tight on space, but would like to keep this particular board instead of going the new board route. I've tried countless different configurations as far as leaving certain pedals on or off the board, and I came to realize that having the TU-2 in a smaller enclosure would help keep the particular pedals on my board that I would like. That is the only reason I posted this question. I saw the rehouse that Analog Mike did for Jack White's TU-2, and was just wondering if anyone else had taken a stab at a small-ish rehouse. If my inquiry doesn't make sense to you, I apologize, but like I said, I believe you'd understand if you were in my situation. Maybe I'm the only one on TGP with this frame of mind or with this slight problem. :jo Thanks for your reply. Cheers! :AOK

i get what youre saying..i highly doubt youd be able to find anything smaller really...maybe grab a sonic research tuner...they seem a tad smaller and are awesome

If you like the buffer, why not just ditch the bypass? I like my TU-2 at teh end of my chain on a packed PT-Pro... not sure how much width yuo could save without a new LED display... I guess you could save some room on the length with different switches, but by the time you get through all of the parts costs, and effort... I think you'd be able to score a pitchblack... or one of those sonic research ones. And at least one of those options are TB.

We did one for Jack White but I recommend the Korg Pitchblack or Strobostomp2 instead of doing that, a much better investment.

If you want small give the Turbo Tuner a shot. The TT would be cheaper than trying to rehouse the Boss.

Does the Pitch Black have Jacks on top or side?
If I had my way, all pedals would have top mounted jacks.(Another 2-3 pedals on a board)

How much smaller from top to bottom is the pitchblack compared to the TU-2, as that is the main size issue on my board, not neccessarily from side to side? Yes, I do gig. Thanks for your time and reply echodeluxe. Cheers!

Not sure exactly but it's significantly smaller. I think it's the size of a Timmy.
