That version of That'll Be The Day on the Anthology, recorded when they were teenagers, sounds just like the Beatles. It's pretty cool, and the production innovations and brilliant songwriting of their records sometimes obscure the fact that they were great players and singers.

Just think though at the time they gave this track to Billy J Kramer & the Dakotas who had the original hit with it. At that time in 1962/3/4 I remember one week in the NME top ten where the Beatles had three of their own records plus had written another three for other artistes including the Stones. I don't think anyone before or since has had that much raw talent.
