Hey there! Thought I would post some pics of my new Hamer since so many of you were kind enough to help me out with info about them since I had no idea and never played one. So here she is! I picked this up at Dave's. She's a used Monaco III in great shape and the price was right. This is my first Hamer and I can really see a long relationship with them since these are some FINE geetars. Plays and looks flawless. Now for some pics:).......

Nice guitar! I have played the guitar you just bought extensively and agree that it is a smoking guitar. I'm not sure if it's your thing, but I found the Monaco III's can handle a lot of gain if need be without a ton of feedback. That's how I ended up with a Monaco III. It could pull off almost anything. Have fun with it.

Hey thanks guys! Small(guitar)world. So you have to tell me the story how do you know this geetar? Your right about the gain as well. I was running this through my HotCat30R and boy oh boy she handles it well!:crazy

I know the guitar well because I spend way too much time at Daves. At one point he had 2 of them and it looks like you and I are the ones who bought them. I basically flipped a coin and took home the other one.

I was really shocked at how it handles gain. You look at the guitar and you'd figure instant feedback. Clearly not the case with the M3. It's a fun guitar.

Gotcha. Yeah I deal with Jeff when I make my trips over there and I told him I have to stop going cause I leave with a guitar EVERY time! Did you get a chance to play the Monaco Elite with the P90's? That one played great as well. A bit on the heavy side though. I went to go buy that '54 they have in stock but wasn't to impressed and just happened to play this one and was beyond blown away.

Tweedledee you got it my all the features that make ya go, whoa nelly!!!

I can't tell you how many times I came close to buying that guitar. I bought my Monaco Elite from Dave's and the Monaco III is a model i'd love to have. The advertised price on that one was very reasonable. In fact, lower than most ebay deals on that model. I couldn't believe how long it lasted there.

Was that the Gold one? Good to know the 54 wasn't impressive so I can take that off my list. Good price but no serial #. He's got a 57 Les Paul Special that I'm going to check out next week if it's still there. It's a refin so it's a little less expensive. Dave's is a major drain on my income but his used prices and trade values are usually really good.

Yeah the '54 was ok as a player but I wanted something that would retain and gain value. I didn't have the trem cover, football switch tip, strap buttons or any case candy and COA. I figured out why the price was so low. I saw the 57 yur talking about. The refin wasn't that bad. I thought it was going to be a lot worse. I would still have it repainted but not to bad. Yeah the Hamer was the gold one.

Yeah I hear ya I was suprised that it was there that long as well. I got a smoking deal as well. Less than what they had her listed for. Great deals at Dave's. Most time the sticker price is beyond reasonable. I wish I could say sorry you didn't get the guitar but then I wouldn't have this awesome geetar!:) I would love to see your Elite!

Nice score! I love Hamers. I had a Sunburst back in the early 80's and it was probably the best or 2nd best guitar I've ever owned. I'd really like to get another Hamer someday.

Until I saw the green one I wanted to say "These should only be sold in red with black pickups!" because, well, for lack of a better word "Damn!" The green while not for me is gorgeous! PRS should take note of the classic finishes on these and drop a couple colors... Oh, "acid wash jean tigerstripe" comes to mind!:roll

Nice score. Hamer's are my favorite guitars. Just got done playing my f-hole Duotone with a friend. My main guitar though is my 1996 Hamer Artist Custom with a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90 style pickup in the neck.

This one isn't as fancy, but I'm enjoying it. Hard to get better quality at a fair price.

Dave had two used Monacos, and if you got the 2005 one, then you got mine. It is a great guitar. I bought it new from Dave and kept it about a year and traded back for a Tele. I realized that it wasn't going to survive the bars we play. It's got a great neck, the pickups sound strong and clear, and I was never able to get it to feed back at high volume like a 335. Enjoy it. Love it. Play it. If you're gonna use the Pigsby, jam some chapstick in the nut.

my #1 is either the standard, one of the newport pros or the 25th anniversary. the yellow phantom was great but got sold to a friend.

This thread got me Monaco curious. Found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-2009-Hamer-USA-Monaco-III-Guitar-3-P-90s-1-2-OFF_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7 c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1205Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3 a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem 2ea4e544b5QQitemZ200334984373QQptZGuitarQQsalenots upported

Price looks right, but I'm broke. Thought I'd share.

I custom-ordered that one in a Gretsch-y Cadillac Green Metallic. They sent me a few color samples, but got it right the third time and it turned out better than I had visualized.

Those are great guitars.

I did get a great Tele, so all is good. But I gotta tell ya, I'm a bridge pickup guy but that Monaco in the middle position and especially the neck dishes up the goods. Glad you got it. To quote Roy Head, Treat Her Right.
