Who has one or has played one long enough to really test it?
I assume it can nail the high gain metal I need it to do, but how are the cleans? How about the more mild overdrive?

Had A V3 for about a year or so. To me, what it does best is high gain tones. I didn't love the clean nor could I get a good mild drive sound that I was perfectly happy with, with lower gain tones , it sounded a little harsh to me and not nearly as smooth as I would of liked. The clean was ok. I like that it has different settings to choose from, I mainly stayed on the thick I believe it was.
I can chalk some of this up to not having the best cab and speaker match. I picked up the carvin 4x12 with GT-75's, and that was probally the worst match up for that amp, along with my guitar, just wasn't a magical combination. Sold it to a friend, who had better luck at making it sound better.
I would NOT purchase this amp for its cleans or mild overdrive, maybe the legacy II would be more ideal.
