I have a Tim on it's way. I found all the soundclips on the net that I could and it sounds very good.

How many of you are using the effect loop in the Tim? Do you like it? Does it work better, than just to have a delay running after the Tim?

Thanks

I predict a flood of Tim threads in the next week or so! ;)

SHM:

I don't have the loop set-up right now on my pedal board, but have used it several times. A very useful way to A/B other pedals w/o disturbing the pedal board setup.

Can you spell out how you used it? I'm interested because mine should be here soon as well...

I use mine to patch in a volume pedal. This way, the volume pedal doesn't suck tone when it's in my chain b/c the TIM is buffering into it. It's kind of like having a true bypass volume pedal. The limitation, of course, is that one can't do volume swells without the TIM engaged, but I've yet to find a pedal that sounds worse stacked into the TIM than it does alone, so I leave my TIM on all the time. If I really needed to do a volume swell with a clean sound, I'd just use the volume pot on my guitar.

It's good for this also, because the TIM is so tall that it sits nicely on the top row.

DP: Simple. I just make sure the send and return plugs are accessible on the TIM in the way it's mounted on the board. The TIM comes second, right after a tuner. So any other pedals I might want to test (for me, that usually means delay, trem or vibe maybe) can be tried out with the board as it is, just by plugging the test pedals into the TIM loop.

I tried 4 or more delays once this way. Just bypassed the delay mounted on the board, switching on each of the test delays in turn. Very convenient. It was as if I was swapping test pedals into the current board setup, only without having to mess it up at all.
