That is one gaudy looking bass - Lester meets Alembic meets hot rod flames. And ugly gold hardware to top it all off.
I do sorta like the block inlays. And the P/J pickup config.

That just does not look right on him!

That particular bass doesn't go with his pajamas that well.

That's no excuse :)
Btw, how much is Mike actually using this "new" bass.? Video I saw from the Boston show last Sunday had him with a trusty old Modulus.

Looks entirely appropriate for him.

So he's on the cover of the new Bass Player and yet again, an ugly bass.

It's pretty funny though
That is just BREWTAL!
I think that weird lump of driftwood on the cover of Bass Player may even be worse though.
He pulled it out for the encore in Knoxville. Looked hilarious, with Page on the huge Keytar right in between Trey and Mike with this beast.

I read somewhere it was a gift from Page on MG's b-day.

Too bad Trey completely botched the guitar parts for the majority of Frankenstein. :)

I agree, actually one of the weakest Franks I've seen...

OT of course, but speaking of "Frankenstein"...
Our drummer's other band, Starr Faithfull, opened for Edgar Winter at Laconia last weekend. They often cover Frank in their set, but wisely chose not to for that one.
