KOT Chip swap?

Has anyone experimented with swapping out the KOT's IC's? I really love the Yellow channel but not as crazy about the RED channel... Wondering if an IC change would make things "better" (to my ears of course). I'd be looking for something to smooth out the OD tone and make it less "sharp" (technical term) ;)

Try a JRC4558 chip, maybe that will warm it up a bit? We use a higher tech chip for clarity but some people prefer the warmth of the old tube screamer chip, especially on the OD side.

Or any 4558 chip like RC4558 etc

I think I'ld rather have the clarity, but it might be fun to experiment and listen to the differences.

love the clarity of the KOT stock, but I still think it is smooth!
