I have a new (used) D60 Larrivee that I want to gig with. It has a huge boomy Martin D28 tone. I am mostly a strummer, playing Acoustic Rock, some Folk. Not much fingerpicking, most play hard with a pick.

My budget is $300 or less. I am looking for something that I can use through a house PA system or something like a SWR California Blonde.

I was looking for input as to which system to install, I am leaning towards something that does not require an external pre-amp or EQ.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions. I am looking for a professional quality system.

I used to work at a music store, and after trying MANY pickups in different guitars, and having a real aversion to any cutting of my guitar, I chose to put a B Band into my HD 28. I have never once regretted it. One small hole under the saddle, and a slight widening of the strap button hole to fit the jack. That's it.....IMO the most non-invasive way to go, and a great sound through a PA or California Blonde.

I've owned them all...from highlander to sunrise etc. My fave, the M1 baggs
soundhole pickup. Doesn't have to be permanently installed either. Active or non. Both are amazing. Period.

Now this doesn't help you at all because everyone has a different answer, but I have been very pleased with the DTAR wavelength with both volume and tone dials in the soundhole. Doesn't mess with the guitar in terms of cutting, and gives a big signal with very natural sound.
Good luck.

I think the K&K is the way to go. Great natural sound. It is well within your budget installed.
