Probably because of some peoples' experiencing high-gain overloading.
I've heard the THC can't handle high gain without distorting on it's own.

Don't know how true this is, but I do know Joel makes killer pedals, so the ol' "grain of salt" theory applies.

So why make a statement about something like that when you have no knowledge of it?

From my experience with HBE, they make some great pedals and are very much under the radar (read underrated). I have had a few of their pedals and my favorites are the Germania and the Power Screamer. If you have issues with any of their pedals just shoot an email to Joel and he will help you out. He has always been very responsive to me and has even sent me a replacement switch and some knobs for a Power Screamer that I bought used with a bad switch - all for free. Pretty cool in my book. :)

Disclaimer: I am listed on the HBE website as an artist.

Maybe because this is a forum and some people may be interested in all opinions?

I've had a Powerscreamer and Dos Mas for years...Sold my THC, should've kept it. But I no longer use chorus. I do have their CPR on my board right now, teh others are out of rotation at the moment, but a great company with great products.

Not affiliated in any way myself.

Well, after using all chorus available on earth, ahhahahhaha, this one is a keeper even if i buy something else..
it is my 2nd HBE and let me tell you that i hate having more than one pedal from one company, but if the others are this good, i might end up kicking myself in the butt and getting more HBE pedals.

Very underrated, indeed, but great pedals.

picked up a THC back a couple months in a trade here, had tried it previously thru a tourbox. I'm not a huge chorus user, but i knew going into the trade that it killed my old choralflange as far as fat analog sounds go. So it's on the board as long as i want some modulation.
Also enjoyed the Psilocybe, could easily see owning one sooner then later, and thought the Mimic is horribly underrated. Short delay time (300ms i think) so i personally wouldn't get a ton of use out of it, but most guys here do slapback mostly anyways. The tone of that guy was outright killer. Someone demo this first the "big name" delays, see how it stands up!
Also just tried their trem/pre-amp last week. Wasn't for me at all, but still hittin .750 as far as i'm concerned...

cheers, good stuff

For so long it has been too "predictable" sounding to me. Now there's companies like Diamond and Dr. Scientist putting a new face on the effect in my observation and I'm stoked about it once again.

I have the THC chorus and find it very fat sounding. I don't use chorus much these days, but I use it for vibe and leslie type tones. It does a pretty good job of those. I also have the HBE Compressor, and think it is also quite good. I also have a Germania, but have used it very little. I haven't really bonded with it, but also haven't given it a really good trial.
