OK, here's the deal: I appear to be a dirtaholic, love the overdrives/Fuzzes. I guess there are worse vices.

Anyway, I'm pretty close finishing (Yes, I know, we never "finish" here at TGP) my array of dirt and I need some advice on order of pedals.

My guitar will plug into a RMC Pic Wah w/ the fuzz friendly circuitry.

Next will likely be a Sunlion.

Next is another Germanium Fuzz, the PCE Lady Stardust-my question about this is, should I place it before the Sunlion or after...the Lady Stardust has an impedance control on top which helps it play nice with wahs, which may or may not be a factor, especially since the Pic Wah is fuzz friendly, anyway.

Next is a PCE Ranger. Yeah, I know I have a Rangemaster circuit pedal in the Beano half of the Sunlion, but I love the sound of the Ranger as well and will have them set up at different drive levels. Another Germanium pedal as well.

Next is an Analogman KOT V4 Red Side Higher Gain. I LOVE this pedal!

Next is my new Timmy...not sure if it should go before or after the KOT.

Next is a Catalinbread DLS with the new mod that I don't even have yet...I wanted something with a Marshall flavor since all of this stuff is going through various Fender amps.

Last but not least in the dirt line is a Keeley Phat Modded Boss BD-2. A very underrated but versatile "utility man" OD. Can go from LOUD clean drive to almost germanium type fuzz, all with beaucoup volume!! Also, keep in mind that this is my only BUFFERED effect, everything else is TB.

Overkill, perhaps. But that's going to be the lineup for a while.

The remaining participants in my effects line with be a MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay V2 and Turbo Tuner stomp box...I plan on them being at the end of the line.

Suggestions are appreciated!

Not sure about the fuzzes, but I'll take a crack at the OD's:

KOT V4 - Timmy (reacts very well to having things stacked into it, allows you to use the eq more effectively)-DLS (designed to be kind of like a simulated amp, so we'll put that last except for...)- Blues Driver (so the buffer doesn't mess with the responsiveness to your pickups).

KOT V4 into the Timmy into DLS...now BD-2 next or last after the CC and TT?

What do most of you folks do when you have more than one Germanium trannie fuzz/tb on board...I know they like to get hit first in the chain (after a wah, if you have one, I guess) but what do you do when you have multiple Germanium trannie pedals?

I compliment you for an assortment of excellent pedals. I do think it is a bit redundant having multiple fuzz and treble booster pedals on the same pedal board. With the pedals you have acquired, I would consider putting together a main board and an on the run or little jamming board.

I would allocate the pedals as follows: main board - RMC Pic Wah, Sunlion, KOT, Timmy, DLS. The little board - PCE Lady Stardust, PCE Ranger, Keely BD-2. If needed, the wah, delay and tuner can be shared or alternated across the 2 boards. Have fun.

Excellent point, and one that I had considered; however, the PCE Lady Stardust really has a different thing going on than the NKT-275 Sunface half of the Lion. For one, it has more volume, more flexibility with tone adjustment, and just kicks ass in general.

But I do know what you are saying, you have a very valid point.

I am in a similar situation with my board. I have NKT Sunface that I absolutely love. I also have a PCE Ranger, which in my opinion is one of the best sounding treble boosters available, especially at it's price point. I also have a Zendrive, TS9 Silver Mod, TIM, and DLS. I share your love for dirt.

Any more opinions?

The PCE Lady Stardust does kick ass.

The NKT-275 is a fuzz face and the Lady Stardust is an MK 1.5. So they are close, but different enough to have on the same board. I think atleast.

I agree...which one would you place first, or does it matter?

SL -> LSD -> PCE (though I'd drop it, overkill IMO) -> KBD-2 (I'd drop this one too in favor of the Timmy and find another buffered pedal) -> KOT -> Timmy -> DLS

erskin, I want to keep the PCE Ranger in because I have it set up differently from the Beano drive wise, that way I don't have to keep changing the Beano half of the Lion on the fly.

The one I really would consider droppiing, though is the Keeley BD-2. Even though it's a fantastic pedal, it is probably overkill in the OD dept.

How many true bypass pedals are typically OK to run together without having a buffered pedal?

Why not just control the dirt level of your SL with your guitar's volume knob?

There's no rule pertaining to the T/B thing - if/when they start affecting your clean tone when bypassed is what I go by.

Anyone have any ideas on a cool buffered pedal that might complement the above?
