View Full Version : What To Buy Next? (a poll)

So I'm going to have a little over $300 to spend. Here are some things that I need for my current musical endevors. Which would you get?

1. TC Electronics Modulation Unit. I have no mod pedals on my board and need some.
2. Another Behringer 212a powered speaker. I have one already but another one could really help the band out by giving us another monitor.
3. Used Fender Blues Jr. We are playing in some smaller places where my other amp may be too much.

Although I am personally an effects junkie, I have to say that I would put the effect box last in this case.

For one thing, if your amp is too big for your venue, that can be a real problem. I had a sound guy at one place turn my Bassman down (at the amp) to the point where I was completely deflated and lost my zeal for playing. It didn't just kill my tone, it really took all the life out of everything. You can always mic a smaller amp, but it's hard to fix one that's too big.

Secondly, if you need another monitor, you need another monitor. That's a NEED, whereas an effect is really a WANT.

You should fix the wood rot on the side of my house :crazyguy

I would go with the amp. Besides the smaller size/volume for smaller venues, you need a backup if the other one breaks down.

I think it's going to be the pa speaker. That would solve the most problems. As much as I want a new amp.
