View Full Version : 5F1 Champ clone, 22kohm 1/2W OK in power supply?

In that amp I have a 0.5W resistor in R11. In this Weber 5F1 schematic ( https://taweber.powweb.com/store/5f1_schem.jpg (https://taweber.powweb.com/store/5f1_schem.jpg) ) R11 is 2W. As there is just the 12AX7 behind it is it safe to keep it or do I have to upgrade to higher wattage resistor? The original Fender schematic does not say 2W and for example Kalamazoo Model 1 has 0.5W resistor in that spot too. R11 is not easy to change in the small 5F1 chassis.

Each triode should draw about 1ma. 2ma thru a 22K should drop about 44volts.

44v X .002a = 0.09watts. I think you're ok.
