What would the benefits be? I picked up a handful of fast recovery diodes earlier in the week. Looking at the spec sheets, they're rated at a higher voltage and peak surge current than 1N4007s, but have a higher forward voltage drop of .7 volts.

Are there any sonic benefits to be obtained by replacing 1N4007s with these?

Spec sheets in case anyone is interested:

I agree---- but i have a bag of UF4007's that i'll use up----many are of the opinion that there just isn't much of a difference between 1N4007's and UF4007's in guitar amps..........but some will disagree, i'm sure..................gldtp99

...but that never stopped TGP'ers!

I found no difference in any was whatsoever in my Twin Reverb

I tried many different kinds of diodes in a Twin. I liked the 1N007 stock
diodes the best for their attack at the beginning of each note. The hexfred
diodes, IMO, fell short for the same reason.
