Found a guitar I MUST have. Unfortunately for me its pretty pricey - not insane pricey (like a 'Burst) but still up there - I can't afford to just go plop down the cash. I have a few pieces of my modest collection I can let go, but not enough I'm comfortable selling to recoup the entire price of this one. I also dread the process of selling - these days I think its much tougher and riskier to be a seller than a buyer, and of course the market for EVERYTHING is soft. The good news is that since the market is so slow the one I want is likely to still be there when I'm finally ready to buy. I'm at last realizing that I can't become the consumate guitarist in all styles and so I'll be getting rid of some "specialized" pieces for this somewhat more versatile and high quality piece. I like being this certain that this is a guitar I'll love, but I hate this process I'll have to go through to get there. I'll probably be listing some stuff in the emporium fairly soon. My wife won't like the expense, but if I'm getting rid of several other amps and guitars that will cushion the blow. Just wanted to share my GAS pains with folks who can sympathize.

I definitely feel your pain. As a matter of fact, I think we might be in a similar boat...

You're not alone. Two weeks ago I spotted a rare guitar with exactly the specs I like. I've been looking for something like this for years; It actually has a fair price but at the moment I'm not really in the position to buy stuff in this price range.

I might feel better if I unload some other gear but I have been pretty happy with what I've got the last few years and like you I hate the process.

believe it or not, not being able to have everything you want is probably a good thing, although it may not seem like it right now.

doc, I'm doing the exact same thing, but I'm almost done! I sold 3 very high end guitars and 1 amp to get a single guitar, it'll be here Tuesday. It's easy for me to sell guitars I don't play much or don't like as much, but ones that I really love are super hard to let go, but in the end I think I'm doing the right thing getting a dream guitar. I'll have to get back to you on that! I just realized that with my income, I can't afford to keep every guitar I like, and if I'm going to get top notch pieces it takes some sacrifice.

Thats not the way Barney Fife would spell it, and he's an expert. Just ask him.

Yeah, but do you have a bullet? If you don't have a bullet, it's compulsion. No way around it.

Now, wait a minute! Your sig says Middle TN, which, BTW, is where Tullahoma is but now you're telling me East TN. Who do think I am, Gomer?
