Hey guys,
I'm looking for some simple-to-use recording software. I've got Guitar Rig software, so I'd like to use it to record some guitar and bass. I'd like to find a simple recording program, need some drum beats to, to lay down some grooves, just come up with some jam or song ideas.
I just built my computer a few months ago, it's pretty fast and I'm sure it can handle any new recording software.
I had played around with Cakewalk Sonar 6 a few years ago, but it was pretty complicated for what I wanted to do. I don't want to spend forever learning how to use it, if you know what I mean.

Check out Reaper (http://reaper.fm). It's really easy to use, but it's extremely deep and professional in its features and capabilities. Plus, the forum is unbelievably helpful with any problems or questions you may have.

Got it, tried it, loved it, and then I bought it. Great software, sounds great and it's easy to use. I got the software all set up with my Guitar Rig software, and I had some ideas last night and used the program to cut some rough demos.

reaper is great! The material on my myspace page was recorded using it.

+4 for Reaper. Spend some time in the forums and on Youtube to get you up to speed. EZDrummer is an excellent tool to work with to build drum loops behind your stream of consciousness.

+5 for easy drummer.
If you can stick around, BlueNoise is working on a drum software that should be a little cheaper than EZdrummer, but it's not out yet...
