I went with the standard gain V4.

Did I make a mistake ? Tell me quick and maybe I can change the order. ?

I'm more of a Tim level gain person (used 80 % of the time). My high gain pedal is an Xact Tone POD (the other 20 %). Are these in the ballpark as the Std V4?

No mistake.

I just got mine (Standard Gain) & it's perfect. Plenty gain if you need it.

Just run the Red Channel Boost into the Yellow Channel OD or OD into OD

or OD into Distortion or Distortion into Distortion :banana

Plus, you can always get it modded later.

I personally love the high gain mod. It isn't night and day as for as level of gain, but it does have a balliser tone.

Thanks for the replies. I'll stick with what I have (for a while anyway) :banana

I went with the low gain and it is perfect for overdrive. However, I re-set up my pedal board this weekend and started using one of the KOT's channels in distortion mode. I think I would like a little more gain for distortion. It's still a good bit of gain, but it would be nice to have that extra little bit. I'm not going to bother with the mod, though.

Love my KOT. At lower volumes where the tubes aren't really cooking it's on almost all the time and the boost is the first one that I've used that's perfect for the "little extra" during solos.

From my experience, if you have a Tim, you don't need a KOT.

I had both TIM and timmy.
I didn't need the effects loop.
I didn't need the boost.
I still use timmy.
But with a Fender amp I DO need a KOT.
If I had to choose with a Fender amp b/w TIM and KOT,
I'd need KOT.
It's based on what works BEST with my rig/ set up.

That's why I said, "from my experience".

Used the KOT today for the first time. I ended up going back to the way it was shipped ad placing my Xact Tone POD after it for distortion. The KOT is all that! For low gain stuff it sounds wonderful, it's on the board for good (right now anyway).

Here's the rig
