I've seen Gilad's name mentioned one or two times around here, but nothing recently so I'm making a (much needed IMO) thread about him.
I wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets buried and that's truly a shame because Gilad is easily one of the most incredible guitarists I've ever seen/heard. His touch and sense of melody is unmatched IMO. I honestly can't say enough about his playing and I'd urge anyone into jazz to check out anything and everything he's recorded. Many jazz musicians I think get so caught up in blowing over tunes and lose their sense of melody, and Gilad can certainly blow when he wants to, but he's so mindful of creating a melody in his improvisation. Not to mention he's a very nice guy and a good teacher (I had a lesson with him when I had a college audition in NYC).
But I'll stop raving now, check him out for yourself.
