Anyone use/recommend a Vox Amplug or other headphone amps for practice?

They say you can plug your mp3/CD player into it for playing along, but I do most of my study in front of the computer. So, perhaps the Vox JamVox software would be better.

What do ya'll use and like?

I had a Vox AmPlug and didn't like it at all but I was used to a Line6 POD. I would recommend a Pocket Pod if it's in your budget.

Would you mind elaborating on the pros/cons of those three units, please?

I have had a few, the Amplug is my favorite-Just plug and play.
and I can go out back with minimal hassle.

Johnson J-station for me sounded the best-Long gone from production.
The Pod is good for different sounds the VOX has only one
