If you have a Micro Cab II you can feed an amp level signal into it but you need a load for the amp's output transformer.

Most DI boxes will take a speaker level and convert it to line level but you will do serious damage to your amp unless you run a speaker load, like a Hotplate.

H&K Redbox - can be had used for around $50. Needs a load on it, however.

Works pretty well, IMHO.

If you want to record silently [with the deluxe speaker muted] you WILL need the hotplate, since it has both speaker-->line conversion and load box features.

If you intend tokeep the deluxe speaker on, something like the H&K redbox will work.

If you have money to burn, check out www.motherload.co.uk
