Help me pick out a recorder!

Hi guys, I need to pick up a small digital recorder for field recording. I basically want to be able to record 4 tracks simultaneously and have panning, eq, and maybe a few FX. Compact flash would be nice. Anything over that will be gravy. Don't want to spend over $400 (the less money the better). New or used, anything goes.
