If any of you have any of his amps please post a pic/review and describe the tone. I have nicknamed his amp a sullivamps. Just so I am clear his TGP id is guitarsnguns04 I have a TW that was modded/ tone sculpted by him.

thanks in advance

Im not sure how many posts you will get here on this one. Most of my customers arent members on here, they are friends of mine. Thats not to say that one or more of my builds may have been sold to someone who is a member of TGP. All of my builds have my name and build date on the chassis, so they are easy to tell if I have made the amp or not. I have a few pics in my photobucket account of older builds that I will share. How are the mods on your express? How did the amp change? Is it better or more useable?

this is an express clone I made for a friend a few years ago. The logo was just for the picture. The amp DID NOT leave my shop with it on it. I never attached it and kept it for myself. It hangs in my shop in honor of a true amp guru! I wouldnt for a second want anyone to think it was an attempt to be dishonest. The amp is a clone!

This is a gutshot of an express clone. This is not the final leadress or finished amp. This is a pic from the initial startup before I tidy everything up for minimal floor noise. The express is very sensitive to layout and wire location which I do after the initial build and prior to it leaving my shop. This amp actually had quite a bit of work done to it after this pic.

This is an amp owned by gearpage username JackButler...Scott. I made this in a dlite chassis and is a dumble inspired amp with a bunch of mods to suit his needs. Maybe he will chime in on what he thinks about his amp? It has an oversized 1x12 cabinet that I also made. I will not post any gutshots of his amp out of respect for him and his amp.

this is an amp I just finished building. This is a pic of the chassis just sitting in the headshell I made for it. The headshell still needs sanded out and buffed yet. The amp itself is a hotrodded vox inspired build. I will take some pics of the finished amp when I get some time. I also have a few other amps in my shop that I have built. One is a 8 watt bedroom screamer..high gain amp..original design. I have another dumble inspired build that I recently finished and could share some pics of and a 50 watt high gain single channel amp that I am using for my own gigs. I deleted a bunch of my older builds recently from my photobucket pics. I will see if I have anymore of my builds on my digital camera yet?

As a side note about me. I do alot of amp repairs and mods for our local music stores in Northwest Ohio. I have made quite a few amps but it is a hobby for me and it is not a business for me. I love great tone and have spent lots of time and money on the latest and greatest amps out there. Some have exceeded my expectations and some have fallen short. I am a electronics tech. for a living and decided to build amps in an attemt to try to achieve the tones that I was persoanlly looking for . All of my builds were actually intended for my own personal use with no intention of ever selling them. I have made clones and made amps from my own designs. I love the satisfaction of making the best sounding amps I can. I am very passionate about it and it is very enjoyable to me. I do not have any desire to try to be a full on amp builder. I do not have the time it takes to do that. crbirdx...I appreciate your curiousity about my builds and I hope you are happy with the work I have done to your amp. If there are any questions or concerns please let me know. I hope those who wish to make comments are polite and respectful. If anyone has any issues that they would like to discuss please send me a pm and I will be glad to reply. I only posted these pics as a reply to the original post. I am not claiming to be the next best thing etc. I love great tone and love building amps. If you have had the opportunity to play one of my builds and want to post a comment good or bad please feel free to do so.

Thank you,Patrick

pat you have been busy here on the boards. i still need to call jackbutler to check out the box you made for him. As always there is a burn in time with new caps/resistors etc. but when i matched it with 2 mojotone bv25m in a closed back lowel walnut cab it cam alive. the treble was smoother with the change of speakers and the cut that you put on is great!!! i really love the the treble switch down for chord work with a neck HB and i leave it in the stock position for the treble pup. thanks again and I can't wait to hear my twin and other mods you'll do. I know that tone is subjective but you too a sorry icepick clone and turned it into TW express rock and roll machine. Thanks again

Oooh, my baby! Sorry I missed this guys. I took a long hiatus, getting a program together for my school and such.
Now to the amp of all amps!
I don't know what Pat did to this amp, nor do I personally care to. I've tried tons of amps (many of you know that!), Two Rocks, Bruno, etc. They had wonderful attributes that I liked, but were never 100% what I was needing to hear.
When Pat told me he wanted to me try this out and get my take on it I truly was expecting "just another amp", would likely be cool and good toned, but nothing special. We're only a fe whours away from one another, so I made the journey.
Well, after a few minutes with it I told him I wasn't leaving his place without it! Long story short, it has it all! For me at least:eeks
I've told friends and such that I wouldn't take $4k for this amp and I still stand by that. It is my #1 and I'll never sell it. While I use a few other amps for other needs (Soldano), my go to amp 90% of the time is this one.
If you get a chance to try one of his amps, please do. It ended my search fro the creamy thick "D" voiced amp.

what's the cab made from?

JackButler
01-11-2010, 04:34 PM
No clue! I don't use this cab anymore, I found that a Hermida ported 2-12 with one Scumback and one TT hemp is GOLDEN!
We never got together dude.

I'm not sure if I can or not, but after talking to Pat...that amp sounds like a must hear!
I'm tinkering with having him build me a mini monster for recording and tiny jams here in a few months.

I think those are some seriously beautiful amps. If their sound is half as good as their looks (and I have no reason to believe otherwise), I'll bet they are luscious ear candy indeed. :bow

I also have to pipe in and say that as a firearms fanatic myself, I really like the username. Something tells me that there is more than a fair number of firearms guys on this site.
